Why Join SLOW?
Through much of the Al Qasimi Foundation's independent and joint research projects, we have reflected on the dearth of contemporary reliable data on specific philanthropic activities in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. In addition, through our discussions with other foundations across the UAE and Arab world, we have documented the urgent need for financial sustainability, prioritizing local needs when devising philanthropic programs, combatting secrecy in the philanthropic sector, and being accessible to local communities.

As such, the concept of SLOW Philanthropy was born in the attempt to redress the above-mentioned challenges faced not only by philanthropic organizations in the UAE and MENA region but also across the world. Through the SLOW Philanthropy network, we encourage philanthropic entities to more openly share their knowledge and best practices with one another in order to increase trust within the sector.
