In fact, roughly 75% of all identified foundations have been established toward or after the end of the 20th century, leading to the emergence of fast-paced philanthropic activities that do not always address the needs of the communities they intend to serve.
SLOW Philanthropy: An Alternative Path Forward
The Sustainable, Local, Open, and Welcoming (SLOW) Philanthropy initiative was created by the UAE-based Al Qasimi Foundation. With the aim of bringing together like-minded philanthropic organizations, this networking platform seeks to empower the philanthropic sector to engage and support communities by being sustainable, local, open, and welcoming.
